Part-time workers The Part-time Workers (Prevention of Less Favourable Treatment) Regulations 2000 state that part-time workers should not be treated less favourably than comparable full-time workers. These regulations prohibit such treatment in a wide range of areas relating to a person's employment, including: rates of pay (including overtime rates, sick pay, maternity pay, access to pension schemes, etc.); training opportunities; holiday entitlement; access to other opportunities such as a career break, and maternity and paternity leave schemes; and selection for redundancy.
