About Us the business of faith project aims to help businesses and individuals in the City of London to engage with issues of religion and belief in the workplace and in commercial life. Our approach:
the business of faith approach is rooted in a commitment to equal opportunities. It aims to raise awareness of new legal protections on religion or belief as part of an umbrella of equal opportunities law, and to combine that with discussion of different systems of belief and possible sources of misunderstanding and discrimination. In partnership with equality and diversity leaders, the project is developing a package of training and support which meets City needs and takes a practical, integrated approach to matters of religious belief and other areas of equality law. Co-ordinatorS The co-ordinator of the business of faith project is Justine Huxley . Please contact us: The Business of Faith, St Ethelburga's Centre, |
In the City The City of London serves as the workplace for thousands of people - people from different social, cultural and religious faith backgrounds. As one of the world's leading financial centres, it is also a hub of international working collaborations and many global businesses. Respect for, and understanding of, different religious and cultural orientations are therefore important to City businesses and enterprises in ensuring productive work environments at all levels. It is also a matter of law. The Employment Equality (Religion or Belief) Regulations 2003 provide protection to workers from discrimination and harassment on the grounds of religious belief. |
